28.06.2024
The Swiss Gaming Association (SGA) has named Dr. Gerhard Pfister and Laurent Wehrli as its new head and deputy head, respectively.
Dr. Pfister succeeds Dr. Beatrice von Ranson, who served as leader for four years. The SGA expressed appreciation for her “substantial contribution to the Swiss gambling industry,” which included overseeing the enactment of the new gaming legislation that took effect in 2019. This legislation permitted Swiss casino operators to provide online gambling for the first time.
The new leadership team was chosen at a gathering held at the Casino Lugano. Eight other board members were also selected.
The new board includes casino heads Guido Egli (Grand Casino Luzern), Emanuele Stauffer (Casino Lugano), Dr. Christoph Tuorherr (Grand Casino Baden), and Uli Winzenried (Bern and Neuchâtel Casinos).
Other board members include Jérôme Colin, general manager of Casino Barrière Montreux, Michele Marinari, director of the Casino Mendrisio, Dominik Racic, of the Casino Bad Ragaz, and Dr. Gert Toenn, vice president of the Grand Casino Basel.
