Sportradar Finds No Suspicious Betting Activity During Euro 2020
28.06.2024
Sportradar, a top-tier provider of sports data and integrity, has declared that no questionable betting behavior was discovered during the 2020 European Football Championship (Euro 2020).
The firm, which collaborates closely with UEFA, the governing body of European football, stated that its Betting Fraud Detection System (BFDS) did not identify any irregular betting patterns during the competition. The BFDS has been operational for over a decade and examines betting activity on European football matches, both international and domestic.
Sportradar also provides assistance to UEFA through the Anti-Match Fixing Assessment Group (AMFAG), which was active throughout Euro 2020. AMFAG brings together specialists from sports and government to exchange information and discuss any potential integrity issues.
Sportradar examined the wagering on the competition and discovered that the worldwide event produced a record betting amount of roughly 62 billion euros (53 billion pounds, 73 billion dollars).
The average betting volume per game was about 1.2 billion euros, with the final game attracting around 4 billion euros in wagers.
The tournament’s winning team, Italy, generated the highest betting volume per game throughout the competition, reaching 1.98 billion euros.
This year, Sportradar has inked several new agreements with sports organizations such as the International Table Tennis Federation, the European Handball Federation, the Swedish Football Association, and the Dutch Olympic Committee to assist in combating integrity concerns.
